Huangshan’s granite peaks and pines have long inspired Chinese painting and literature. The appeal is not a single summit but a succession of forms, framed by changing clouds and light. We place it fourth for that close relationship between scenery and visual culture. Expect steep terrain even where visitor infrastructure exists, and plan around official access information rather than assuming a photograph reflects everyday visibility.
